This is a pouch i made for my mother. for every 1 strip of purple, i wove in 3 blue or black based color. i don't remember what the white material i wove the strips through was called, but it made it sturdy to weave into so it'd keep it's shape and not let go of the fabric.

oh, by the way, i'm not dead! i'm just busy!

not that i know of. but there is this stuff (i think it is called netting, but i'm not sure) that is white and had blue lines running through every few inches in a reletively stiff, waxy threaded sheet. you cut a square from it (or whatever size as is appropriate- mine was roughly 12 inches by 9 inches)
take small strips of fabric (optimally an inch or 1.5 inches wide)and pull the fabric through the hole. then pull it in and through until you reach the end.
do this with other colors until the end.
trim the ends even, then zigzag stitch the edges. then, put a lining on the back, wrong sides together, and zigzag stitch it around.
fold up the "bottom" of your pouch at desired height, and zigzag stitch the pouch sides together.
you may want to sew in velcro or a button and button hole to keep it closed.
